Shocked by Alex’s death, penniless and out on the streets, Vernon looks for a couch to sleep on. His friend Xavier, a failed script writer, leaves Vernon his apartment while he goes to the Cannes Film Festival for a few days to “attend business”. At a party for the crème de la crème, Xavier brags about having Bleach’s last will and testament on video. Fearful of what the tapes might reveal, powerful producer Dopalet orders the Hyena and Anaïs to go to find it by any means necessary.

Evicted from his apartment that very morning, Vernon turns up to a gig by his old friend, Alex Bleach, an aging rock star attempting yet another come back. When Bleach learns that his friend is out on the street, he invites Vernon over to his place, “like in the good old days”. As a drugged out Vernon falls asleep, Alex confides his secrets and pains to him, via a video camera.

Vernon, out on the streets, has cut ties with everyone. Pamela, Xavier, Emilie and Sylvie all try to find him. The Hyena decides not to give the tapes to Dopalet, instead revealing their content to Anaïs and Aïcha, and then to the whole gang–including the prodigal, unrecognizable Vernon.

Just as he catches up with Vernon, Xavier is assaulted. Seriously injured, he is taken to a hospital where Vernon and Pamela follow him. Weakened by the chaos of the last few days and unable to face the idea of losing another friend, Vernon flees and ends up sleeping on a park bench. In the meantime, the Hyena finds the tapes and discovers Alex Bleach’s final message.

Their reunion is passionate, but soon complicated by Sylvie’s neuroses.

Kicked out of Xavier’s place, Vernon turns up unexpectedly at Emilie’s. Although torn between resentment and tenderness, she decides to let him stay. Together, they reminisce about old times. In the morning, she tells him to leave. Emilie feels deeply hurt to have been “abandoned” by their old gang. These days, she’s more careful with her affections.
