Issue No. 02 | Female Trouble
21st Century Women
“When a woman tells the truth, she is creating the possibility for more truth around her,” said the poet Adrienne Rich. This issue features a variety of comedic and dramatic narratives examining the struggles women confront—and the ones they embrace and initiate. From gender identity and imagination in childhood, to relationships, reproduction, and work in adulthood, we look at the ways in which women are (and aren’t) allowed to move freely through the world. Turns out some experiences—like being groped on public transit or denied promotions by our bosses—are truly universal.
