Notte keeps working for Berlusconi who is close to entering politics. Bosco becomes popular, but has to help a friend in need.

As the rise of Berlusconi looms in the background, Politician Craxi is ready to call it quits, but Leo wants to convince him otherwise; Pietro asks a friend for a favor, which leads to unexpected consequences; Leo returns home to visit his parents but a conversation but finds his father is far gone; TV starlet Veronica spends her birthday with a young admirer who seeks career advice. But, real danger awaits.

May 14th, 1993. After the shocking events of the last episode, an injured Veronica finds herself in a hospital bed. When she’s told that she is going to be replaced by another actor, she does whatever she has to do, even if it means her dignity; Leo returns home with his daughter to discover tragic news; As the characters confront a multitude of problems, they find that no matter how hard they try the past won’t stay dead.

Leo is in prison awaiting trial for murder when he is offered a chance to get out. However, it means helping Luigi Brancato silence one of his toughest critics. Veronica is incredibly furious when a seedy magazine publisher theatens to release graphic nude photos from her sex tape. She tries to figure out how to solve this problem; Pietro parties with Italy’s elite and makes new alliances.

Giulia is blamed for Gardini’s suicide; Leo faces consequences for disobeying Brancato. Pietro learns his father is in the hospital; Veronica opens up about her prostitution for an interview. Luca has a passionate night which turns into a bad trip.

Leo returns home and faces the dire truth about his political career - his recent jailtime and his rumored involvement in a murder may have derailed his ambitions; Pietro confronts the Professor about his relationship with Bossi; As Veronica shares more sordid and painfully honest details about her sex life with her handsome interviewer, she finds that he is drawing closer to her, and their relationship could possibly take a new turn.

Veronica fears she’s risking her career by publicly naming the numerous men that she has slept with, so she’s forced to come up with a new plan; Leo meets with numerous Communist officials and shares his honest opinions about the future of their political party. The characters all make decisions that will have major decisions leading into the series finale.

In the season finale, the characters take actions that will lead to the inevitable rise of Berlusconi. An emotional Arianna finally confronts her husband Leo about his role in the murder; Veronica shines in a televised mock debate; Pietro tries to convince The Professor to make a move that will put them up against Berlusconi. With their future on the line, who will rise and who will fall as Italy heads for its biggest political shake-up in decades?
